Tripp Lite's U338-000 USB 3.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter provides individual or simultaneous connection to either a Serial ATA or IDE drive (2.5/3.5/5.25") to allow you to configure hard drives without having to install them first. With transfer speeds up to 6 Gbps (w/SATA III), the U338-000 provides a fast, convenient way to format hard drives or transfer files. You can also transfer data between a SATA and IDE drive over the adapter. The unit features both 2.5" IDE (44-pin) and 3.5" (40-pin) connections and a 22-Pin SATA Data + Power connector. It works with any SATA and certain IDE drives (see compatibility list). Windows-compatible AI-OTB One Touch Backup software is included to allow you to quickly backup and restore files. The U338-000 is compatible with Windows and Mac. Manufactured using top-quality materials to ensure error-free data transmission and hard drive formatting.

U338-000 compatible with Windows and Mac Product Versions and Backup Software A new version of the U338-000 was released in 2014, and it uses AI-OTB One Touch Backup software, instead of the PC Clone Ex Lite software used by the original version. In the Support tab on this Web page, you will find zip folders for both versions of the backup software. In addition to including the applicable driver, they contain a Release Notes file that will tell you how to determine which version you have and which backup software you need to use. Both versions of the U338-000 function the same with the only difference being the backup software they use.
